Our Anniversary...

st patricks

...of the day Britton proposed, that is. Four years ago on St. Patrick's Day Britton and I became engaged. What's funny about this is that Britton is already ridiculously lucky. Here are some examples to support my claim:
1) He ALWAYS gets the best parking spots. (I sometimes let him drive just so when we get to the store we will get a good place to park...ok wait, Britton just reminded me that he always drives.)
2) When he asked me to marry him, I said YES!
3) I can't even count the number of drawings/contests he has won just since we have been married. (I have only ever won 1 thing in my LIFE [and you may think I am exaggerating, but I swear I am NOT]...a giant cookie from a radio show for my dad on father's day when I was like 13. Wait, I guess I didn't win it. They asked me a question and then called my dad to ask him what my response would be to that question and when my dad got the question wrong, they gave it to us anyway.) They have all been through his work because I don't think Britton would ever go out of his way to enter a drawing.
4) He got a free night's hotel stay once for chatting it up with the right guy (Sheraton CEO).
5) When Britton decided to go to a travel agent to find out about cruises there was a deal going on for a free room upgrade.
6) TWICE he has taken the car for safety and IM when the windshield was cracked and they let it slide. (Crossing our fingers for this year, but we won't be sad if it doesn't make it since we've had a 2-year delay.)
7) I could go on forever...
8) Last one...he found a smokin hot wife. (Now that's the real luck!!) ;P

I LOVE YOU, Britton!!

Laugh-Filled Weekend

Jack sure gives our abs a workout.

Today we were watching tv and Jack went into the kitchen to play with his new found love...the drawer under the oven. I keep pot lids in there and he love to get them out and bang them around, so we didn't think anything when we heard the sound of metal hitting the floor. A few minutes go by and we realize that Jack has been a little too quiet if you know what I mean. Britton went to check on him and this is what he found. Apparently a towel had been placed on the stove and a pot of gravy on top of it. This becomes an obvious no-no when you understand that before the oven drawer discovery, Jack's "job" in life was to pull the kitchen towels off of the oven handle.

Notice how the bottom half of his sleeper is soaked through with gravy...and he was having a blast!
(Side note: The stove had been off for at least an hour and a half and the gravy was no where near hot.)

This video is from Friday, when Jack realized how hilarious putting a shirt on your head can be.

My Recent Craving...

I don't think I let this one it cool long enough because a little bit of the middle stuck to the pan...

Chocolate Pound Cake
(I got this from the side of a Duncan Hines Devil's Food cake mix box)

1 box chocolate cake mix (I use a generic devil's food mix)
1 small box (4-serving) chocolate pudding mix
1 1/4 cup water
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs
Beat medium speed for 2 minutes. Bake 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. (I always do 60 minutes.) Once it cools a little turn it over onto a plate and drizzle vanilla icing on top (I use generic and heat it up in the microwave a little).

Jack's First Jazz Game

Britton's sister gave us tickets to the Jazz v Nuggets game so we decided to take Jack with us. We also had two of our nephews with us, Tanner and Chase. I had a lot of fun, but I only got 4 pictures and they were all of Britton and Jack. You can kind of see Chase and Tanner in the background of this one. Chase has on the navy blue shirt and all you can see of Tanner is a spot of his light blue shirt.
It was so much fun!! Thank you Wendy and Terry for the tickets, and thank you Tanner and Chase for letting us tag along! :D

This is just a random picture I took a couple weeks ago. I went in to get Jack up from his nap once I finally heard him stirring, but from the looks of things he had been up a while just playing around. He didn't even get up when I came in the room. He had pulled the bumper down and was hanging his feet out the slats while he was just mumbling/singing to himself. It was really cute!

This had me rolling!!

Ok, so I got this as an email and I could not resist sharing it with all of you. You are probably all (as I was) very leery considering the title of the article (the pictures lead me to believe this was an article in some magazine), but that's what makes the whole thing so funny! I was rolling the whole time I read it...so please don't strip me off your blog list! Remember...this is for comic relief only - :D

Ps. Click on the pictures to enlarge them...you have to be able to read what they say!
