June 2011

I think Miles had told me one morning that he was hungry and wanted breakfast then got down stairs before I could.  I heard some commotion and came around the corner to find this.  Guess he gave up waiting for me and decided to get his own breakfast!

We got the "Pass of All Passes" this year and had lots of fun with them.  Here at Trafalga in Lehi, the boys LOVED the bumper boats.

Well, Miles didn't really enjoy getting wet, lol.

There weren't many rides they would let me on being pregnant (with Luke).  I could only handle one ride on the carousel because it made me so dizzy and nauseous.

I don't know who loved the race cars more, Jack or Britton. ;)

Every time Jack came around he would yell, "Mom, I'm flying...can you see me?!"

Jack played on a Marv Jensen Rec Center soccer team this spring and was really into - in the beginning anyway.  It was "fun" trying to watch and support Jack, but entertain Miles at the same time so he wouldn't run onto the playing field after the ball.

"Look, Mom, I made a camel!"

What a trophy!  First thing Jack did was like it like an ice cream cone, lol.

What a special memory that Jack got to play soccer with his cousin Porter and friend Kaitlyn!

And of course, Jack made fast friends on his team as well.

Easter
The Easter Bunny was a tad lazy last year ;) but it was still fun for Jack and Miles to find their Easter baskets and hunt for eggs in the back yard!

Jack's First Soccer Team
Jack was SO excited to play soccer this past year and he was pretty good too!

Jack even made a few goals!

This was a special team; Jack got to play with his cousin, Porter, and good friend Kaitlyn...and of course he quickly became friends with the rest of the team too.

Random
Miles came in my room one day SO proud of himself.  He stuck the Mister Potato Head mouth and eyes in his ear holes and called them earrings, LOL!

There is something so serene about Miles when he is sleeping...maybe it's his eyelashes, but I could just watch him sleep all night.

Trip to the Zoo
This was our last trip to the zoo with the season pass I had purchased the year before.  We finally used the carousel tickets that we got when we became members.

I have a picture just like this of Britton with Jack when he was younger...in almost this exact spot at the zoo

We had train tickets to use too!

Out and About
Some friends of our invited us to spend the weekend in Park City with them and it was such a fun and wonderful get-a-way (THANKS you guys!!).  Of course in all the fun, I of course forgot to pull out the camera except this one time! :(

Jack's friend, Kaitlyn, invited him to Disney on Ice, so we found someone to watch Miles and Britton and I both got to go too!  It was SO fun to see how much Jack enjoyed the singing and skating and being with friends.  SUCH a great night (again, THANK YOU for thinking of us!!)

Here's a cutie-patootie shot of Jack's friend Kaitlyn (in the background).

The stars of the show (Peter Pan & Tinkerbell)

And of course, we cannot forget the incredible ride on trax :)

My Big Helper
I heard some interesting commentary from the hallway when I was in my bedroom one day.  Jack was being really nice while he talked to Miles, telling him to move this way or that or to sit still.  When I got up to check it out, this is what I find...Jack is putting Miles' pj pants back right-side-out and is preparing to put them back on him now that he has "changed his diaper".

I tried to get a better shot...notice that it's backwards and one side isn't even fastened, ROFL!!  Jack was all, "Mom, I'm just changing Miles' diaper for you!".  It was too darn cute - and maybe the cutest part of all was that Miles was just sitting there letting Jack do whatever.  (Please don't mind the clean clothes strewn all over the floor underneath Miles - that is what the two of them were busy doing before the aformentioned "diaper change")

And this is a picture of Jack being the big helper when he went with Daddy to the "plumbing" store to get some parts for our leaking kitchen faucet.

Stuck
Miles figured out how to climb into our super high kitchen table chairs, but he didn't realize what he was getting into when he climbed into the chair while it was still pushed under the table.  We didn't figure it out until we heard the yelling, and then I had to snap a picture before I got him down, LOL!

Decorating for Christmas!
As Jack is getting older, the holidays are getting more fun each year.  We had fun decorating the house and especially the tree for Christmas this year together as a family.  Jack really got into it and was even trying to show Miles how to put the decorations on the tree.  But the best part was getting to help Britton put the star on top.

Our little Christmas corner.

And a game of catch when all was said and done.

Birthday Continued...

So it really was my "magical" birthday this year.  I turned 30 on the 30th and I wouldn't have chosen a better way to spend my celebrations than how they worked out this year; I feel like such an incredibly blessed daughter, sister, niece, mother, wife and friend.  Thank you so much everyone!  I already posted about the first 2, so here are the rest.

Birthday Celebration #3 - Official Birthday :)
The day after I got back from North Carolina was my official, official birthday. It was SO nice to be home, even with how much fun I had while I was away.  I was pleased as punch to stay home and make my own birthday dinner and have homemade cake with my best friend and our two handsome boys.

Miles got super messy from dinner and cake, so...

...he needed a bath!  I was too lazy to go upstairs to the tub, so I just cleaned out the sink and washed him up right there.

And of course, since Miles got to have a bath in the sink, guess who else wanted to also?!?!

Birthday Celebration #4 - Dinner at Mimi's Cafe
Two days after my B-day I got a BIG surprise!  We had been running errands all afternoon, when we came home for a quick bite to eat before we had to run even more errands.  I was just about to eat something when the doorbell rang.  I ALWAYS check the peephole before I open the door, but for some reason I didn't this time.  So I open the door to find 7 of the AWESOMEST girlfriends ever!!  These crazy chics surprised me with a Girls Night Out Dinner for my birthday - how fun is that?!?!?!  Except, of course, the night Britton proposed, I think it may be the bestest surprise anyone has ever planned for me - you guys are the best, THANK YOU!!!!!

Birthday Celebration #5
I don't have a picture :( , but my favorite older sister took me out to a picture show for my birthday!  I was SOOOOO looking forward to watching Eclipse in the theater when it came out back in June, but, sadly, opening night was right in the middle of our Girls Camp.  I was sad to miss out on opening day, but it was totally worth it to be up at camp with our amazing young women instead.  Then time just got away from me.  I've blogged about all that has happened from June to September, but I was SO happy to finally get to see it with Becky...especially since she didn't talk the whole movie through!!  ROFL!!  Just kidding, Kirbs - you know I love you!  Thanks for the movie and popcorn :)

Mexico!!

Britton and his law school buddies started planning a "Graduation" trip in like their second semester.  Well, graduation finally came and went, and so naturally the graduation trip followed.  It ended up being just us three couples...we left the kiddos at home and had fun relaxing and hanging out as adults.

On the balcony of our condo overlooking the marina (and pool).

Our first of two trips to Fajita Repulic (the restaurant).  The food was DELICIOUS!!  Mmm, I'm getting hungry just thinking about those steak fajitas, LOL!

The expensive mariachi band at Pipis.

Our trip into town.

Our flip-flops getting cozy during our sand volleyball tournament.

On the day-long boat trip that didn't turn out to be what we thought it would be.

We went 4-wheeling through the country and into a jungle.  It was pretty awesome.  I bet you're wondering what the bandanas are for?  We had to wear them over our nose and mouth so we wouldn't catch any of the mud/water in the face as we flew through the mud puddles.  We were covered from head to toe in muck by the time we got home...the only part of my outfit that survived the trash can is my shirt.  (Hope you don't mind I stole these pics - thank you Sarah!)

Our second trip to Fajita Republic...seriously, my mouth is watering!

Our last night we ate at an Italian restaurant - nice that we aren't even looking in the same direction, huh?  lol!

We had so much fun, but I was so happy to be back home with our boys...I got a little camera happy about it.

Brought presents of course!

I think we left for Mexico the day after Miles got this car (a month late) for his birthday, so that is all they really wanted to play with when we got home.
