First Stop - Benson, North Carolina

Jack and I left for our trip back to my home state on April 16th. I was SOOO worried about how well I would do traveling with a 2-year old while being pregnant, but our many prayers were answered because Jack was really awesome the whole time. He's such a little trooper.

Jack on the airplane...he sure looks like he's got it made, huh? Watching cartoons with headphones on, sucking on a binki, crackers in one hand, sippy cup with juice on the other side, with a reclining cross-legged thing going on.

Our first flight took us from Salt Lake to San Deigo. We had a 7 hour layover there until our flight to Boston, but that was just fine with us because we have family there! Britton's brother, Ryan lives out there, so they came to pick us up and we got to hang out with them all evening. Jack had SOOO much fun playing with his cousins Isaac, Ali and Joshua. It was so nice to let him get good and worn out and then they fed us dinner and I even got him bathed and in his pjs before we headed back to the airport. Poor kid was so worn out he actually fell asleep on the way to the airport and didn't wake up as we moved him to the stroller, or when I had to pick him up out of the stroller to take him through security, or when I got him out of the stroller again to get onto the plane, or while a complete stranger grandpa man held him while I buckled his carseat in. In fact, he pretty much slept the whole red-eye flight to Boston (as I silently sang a Hallelujah chorus in my mind).

This is a fun toy I found at the dollar store that I pulled out at the San Diego airport while we waited for Uncle Ryan and Aunt Micki to pick us up. Jack LOVED it and I was thrilled that he didn't mind playing it over and over again without screaming to get out of the stroller.

Ps - A huge shout-out to my sister, Becky for letting me borrow her double stroller for the trip. I would NOT have survived without it. It was nice to be able to put Jack in one section, with my backpack and Jack's carseat in the other.

This is my brother, Boe at his tennis match the day I got there.

My brother, Marcus, and sister, Carly were the best! (Uncle Boe too!) They would play with Jack and follow him around and keep an eye on him for me. It was so nice to have help with that!

You can see how thrilled Jack is that Uncle Boe let him hold his guitar!

Jack really enjoyed swinging on the playset at the montessori school that Grandma works at.
I am kicking myself for being too lazy or forgetful or tired or whatever because I hardly ever got the camera out. I don't have nearly enough pictures from our trip, but I will continue to post what I do have.

You are so brave to take a two year old and a baby in utero on such a long trip! I love the picture on the plane.

So I saw you walking to Erin's and said Hi but you didn't hear me. Glad to see you back for a few days. Mike was planning on watering your grass so I am glad I saw you and he didn't just walk into your house with you there!

You are amazing to travel that far by yourself with a two year old! I bet your family loved seeing that adorable little guy. It has got to be hard to have your family live so far away. Jack is getting so big!

I know it's not fun traveling with little ones, but we're glad Jack was a trooper. Hope your trip back to UT was good. We can't wait to hang out again when we get back from vacation!

I love the pictures! Glad you got a few of our siblings. I'm tearing up a bit wishing I had gotten to go with you to see everyone! lol... I'm sorry I didn't get to see you for the few hours you were back in SLC, I can't believe you were here less than 12 hours! You are some kind of brave, woman! But I guess this post proves that! Well, I will see you soon!
