I thought he did really well for his first time on a carousel. He didn't cry or try to get down, but he did sqeeze that poll so tight that the tips of his little fingers were white! So brave :)
Later that night we celebrated Jack's birthday with his favorite meal, spaghetti (hence the orange cheek stains before the cake is even cut.) Before we could even eat, though, Jack was being a real grumpy butt and we felt bad that he didn't want anything to do with the phone when his grandparents and aunt/uncles called to wish him "Happy Birthday!" I asked Britton to take his shirt off before we fed him and discovered then that he had a big mess in his drawers! Poor kid...no wonder he was grouchy! He had two baths that night. One before dinner, and one after. Good thing he loves the tub!
I picked up a red velvet cake at the store, but for his party I made a chocolate cake. I don't think he has a preference, though...just as long as there is sugar in it, he's happy!

On Saturday, we had a birthday party for Jack at our Clubhouse. The only problem is that the thermostat wasn't working, and we were all freezing!

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for the airplane...he LOVES it!

Also, Nana and Sir Grandpa the Great's gift was a hit too!

I think this is my favorite of all the pictures we took that day. I thought he didn't want cake and that he was just freezing because it was so cold in there. But then Aunt Wendy took pity on him, poor thing, and he ate all the ice cream and cupcake she would feed him. I was running around everywhere trying to get everything set up and flowing right, Jack's aunts, uncles, and cousins had to make sure he had food to eat, presents to open and plenty of attention at HIS own birthday party (while his crazy parents ran around like chickens)! So, THANK YOU to everyone for helping so much!

So cute!! Mmmm that red velvet cake looked delicious!! Happy one year Jack! :) Hey, thanks for offering to help with Kandice's shower. Does March sixth work ok for you? That is when we were thinking of doing it. I went and bought some invitations yesterday so I think I will fill them out today or tomorrow and then take them around sometime this week. Mindi is helping as well so we can all just keep in touch and when it gets closer decide what we want to have for desserts.
your hair is getting so long steph!I can't remember last time I've saw it that long...I guess when we were kids. It could be the angle I saw it at but I don't think so. I like the picture of the merry-go-round. Really adorable!
Happy Birthday Jack! Looks like he had a wonderful Birthday!! Did you make that Chocolate Cake? They both looked so good. That picture with you and Jack at the mall was super cute!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I love the first birthday when they rip into a cake....priceless. I am glad the day went well..minus the freezing clubhouse. I hate that clubhouse. Anyways, I am sad that I can't make the girls night. Hopefully next time! Have fun and take a ton of pics!
Stephanie,
You sounds just like me, running around making sure everything is perfect. I am a little better now. Todd has helped me to work on that because I was always frantically working in the kitchen when we had people over. Invite people over and then not socialize :) I was silly. Anyway, didn't mean to go off on that tangent.
Happy Birthday Jack!
I love the last picture most of all. You caught him at quite a moment! Thanks for the nice comments on my blog! I bet your hair looks darling and yes, you can always go shorter, unless you decide to shave it all off and then you just have to start over...
I love the picture of you and Jack on the carousel!
Love all your pictures! They are great. I'm sorry I missed it all! I really love that last picture, it's classic!!
Hey - way cute pics! It looks like Jack had a way fun birthday. I am sorry to say that I won't be able to make it to girls night out =(. We have this family thing planned for Saturday that I originally thought was going to be on Sunday - anyways, hope you all have lots of fun, and I will for sure be there next time!
Happy Late Birthday Jack! What fun pictures, it looked like he had a wonderful birthday. I can not believe that he is already One. Goodnight where does the time go.
How was Girls' Night Out? Sorry I couldn't make it. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law were staying at our house and I didn't feel like I could leave...
I love the birthday pictures--Good times. I hope Jack gets feeling better soon. I wish you both a full nights sleep:)
PS Thanks again for the yummy dinner, it couldn't have come at a better time.
